Ratings and Reviews

“One of the best horror podcasts I’ve ever heard. Manages to expertly maintain a sense of dread throughout, almost like you’re listening to something you’re not supposed to hear.”

This slow, simmering, show is like jazz. There's a story of shifting perspectives, hinting at things to come. Sometimes the audio washes over you like music that tickles your amygdala. I don't know how he does it, but the creator somehow makes the entire world seem dingy, ill-lit, and disintegrating through sound alone. The moody, menacing collage of creep pays off with tense action and superb sound design. If you like your nerves unsettled, don't miss this show.

“A rather special ‘delivery’ in horror genre podcasting, this captivating writing and narration has a style all its own. Keeps you in it. Modern day story telling mastery (sound effects done right), it’ll be no surprise to me if this catches fire and spooks the bejeezus out of many….

Intelligent, descriptive, enticing.”

“Jimmy’s stories of his time as a courier are disconcerting, full of unusual imagery. The writing does a remarkable job of highlighting that “just off enough” feeling, up until the moment things begin to veer dramatically off the rails and into the world of the bizarre. What starts as that itch in the back of your brain, a primal signal that something is wrong, is satisfyingly confirmed. The dialogue and introductions are also great.”

Much like the show, theres a lot to say in this review. Delivery is a lot to chew on the first bite. You are immediately thrust into a cacophony of enigmatic motifs fitting of a modern day lovecraft story. However, in essence, this is true horror. The crushing weight of being forced to face the unknown. You’re immediately left with an impression of hopelessness, and grasping at straws to understand what’s going on. What is coupled with fear? Our desire to understand. It’s this enticing bait dangled in front of you that keeps you locked into this show. Delivery “delivers” a Kaleidoscope of surrealism, horror, and mystery. Married to expert sound design (particularly the use of sub frequencies to induce anxiety) and quick paced scenes that stop on a dime for expositions and dialogue. You won’t immediately understand what’s going on, but you’ll immediately want more. This wild ride is one of the most immersive experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to.

“...slow, simmering, moody, hinting at something more? Delivering menace.”

The Book of Constellations

Almost done with season 1 and the mystery and tension build with every episode. An answer just leads to more questions and thats the roller-coaster i like to ride on. Has a tinge of noir feel to it, which I'm biased towards as it's a preferred genre. Definitely check this show out!

It's one of these podcasts you will have to re-listen to even try put together the bigger picture. However, it's not a flaw, it's a boon. The episodes work well as standalone stories, brought to life by amazing voice actors letting us connect to very different people from different backgrounds whom we only meet to hear their story. Kudos to the writers for giving these talented people a great material to work with: every narrator has their own speech pattern, their own way of describing things, always fitting well with their supposed social status and place of origin. All of it gives us a sense that this is a scary universe and things like that could happen to anyone.

This is one of those shows I knew I would love from the start. I was drawn in immediately and like a tentacled Eldritch horror, it just wouldn't let me go.. And of course, like a true cultists, I didn't want to be! Highly recommend this if you love mystery, tension, horror and all round excellent audio dramas

Unlike anything I've heard before and wonderful in its uniqueness. For that very reason it may not be for everyone, but personally I find it a gem that should at least be given an attempt to experience.

Spellbound by the range of sound, spellbound by the strangeness, spellbound by what’s behind the next door or down the overgrown road or inside the oddly lit room. Nothing in Delivery season 1 feels straightforward or obvious, yet from start to finish it is a patient and stunning listen—and true to itself.
